In my former position as a project manager at XYZ company, we were in the process of developing a software application. Halfway through the project, I recognized that the technology stack we were using was outdated and that the application would not perform at its best. Although it was not part of the original plan, I used my technical expertise to suggest a transition to a more modern and efficient tech stack. I shared my recommendations, including real-time comparisons, advantages, and potential performance enhancements with the stakeholders. Initially, there were some reservations, but after providing further clarification on the long-term benefits, I was able to influence their decision. As a result, we adjusted our project roadmap to incorporate the new technology, which slightly extended our timeline but ultimately led to a more efficient and robust application, increasing client satisfaction.
