At my former workplace, we experienced a high customer churn rate that jeopardized our quarterly revenue goals. Upon investigating the situation, I discovered that our onboarding process was inadequate and our product was failing to meet expectations. I took the strategic risk of suggesting a complete overhaul of the onboarding process, despite the substantial resources it would demand. I was aware of the risks involved, but I also saw the potential benefits of reducing churn and retaining more customers. After presenting my proposal, the board approved it. We implemented the revised process, and after two quarters, we observed an 18% decrease in churn, leading to improved financial results. Although the risk was considerable, it was a calculated one that ultimately provided significant advantages for the company.
