Air travelers often face a significant hurdle when it comes to layovers, especially lengthy ones, which can feel tedious and unproductive. Google could create an application—let's name it Google Transit —that specifically aids passengers during these extended layovers. This app would include features such as real-time flight tracking and updates, information on transit visa requirements, details about lounges, dining, shopping, sleep pods, and other airport amenities. Additionally, it could feature a city guide section for those wishing to explore the city during longer layovers, covering tourist attractions, local cuisine, souvenirs, luggage storage options, and transportation methods. To test the viability of this product, a beta test could be implemented at major transit hubs like Dubai or Heathrow to collect real-time user feedback. Additionally, a brief survey could be conducted among frequent travelers to confirm the existence of the problem and identify other potential areas for improvement.
