In my previous position as a product manager, I encountered a comparable scenario involving various stakeholders, such as engineering, design, management, and clients, each with distinct perspectives on the project. To start, I conducted one-on-one meetings with each stakeholder to gain insights into their views and what they considered crucial for the project's success. Following these discussions, I organized a group meeting where everyone could share their opinions. During this session, I made it a priority that each stakeholder felt acknowledged and that their input was appreciated. The goal was to encourage mutual listening and, ideally, to identify common ground. However, I also made sure that any conflicting viewpoints were addressed openly and honestly rather than ignored. Subsequently, I synthesized all the feedback into a clear project objective that included the key points from each stakeholder and outlined the potential paths to achieve it. I ensured that everyone was informed about the plan and had the opportunity to provide their input. This strategy not only clarified the project goal but also engaged the stakeholders, which subsequently enhanced their commitment to the project's successful execution.
