Machine learning is similar to playing a new video game. Initially, you may not know how to play and could lose frequently, right? However, as you continue to play, you start to understand the game's mechanics, discover what actions earn you more points, and identify what leads to losses. Over time, you become proficient at the game because you've 'learned' the correct way to play. In the same way, machine learning involves allowing computers to 'play a game' repeatedly. The 'game' represents any task we want the computer to master. Just like you, the computer learns from its errors and progressively improves its ability to complete the task.
