As a Product Manager for Instagram Reels, our goal with any new features, including advertising formats, is to deliver value to both users and advertisers. Consequently, here are the metrics I would monitor: Viewability Metrics : To ensure our ads are visible, we would track reach, impressions, and view completion rates. Engagement Metrics : I would monitor metrics such as click-through rate (CTR), likes, shares, comments, and the number of times a video is saved to assess whether the ads resonate with users. Effectiveness Measurements : Based on the advertiser's objectives, we might also need to track conversions like website clicks, app installs, lead generation, or actual sales that can be linked directly to these ads. Consumer Sentiment : This can be measured through direct user feedback or sentiment analysis of comments related to the ad. ROI Metrics : Depending on the campaign's goals, we could track metrics such as cost per action (CPA), return on ad spend (ROAS), or customer lifetime value (CLV). Lastly, consistently conducting A/B tests on various elements of the ad format, such as its positioning within Reels and its duration, will assist us in optimizing the new ad format.
