With a dataset of previous deliveries, my first step would be to thoroughly analyze the data to understand its features, check for any missing values, and identify outliers. This process, referred to as data cleaning, is essential for developing effective models. Following this, I would perform exploratory data analysis to uncover patterns, correlations, and potential features that could affect delivery times, such as the time of day, day of the week, distance, and weather conditions. After completing the data cleaning and analysis, I would split the data into training and testing sets, using the larger portion for training the model. For the initial model, I would choose a linear regression model due to its simplicity and effectiveness in providing a predictive baseline. Once this model is deployed, I would explore more advanced models, such as Decision Trees, Random Forests, or Gradient Boosting, and compare their results. Finally, I would rigorously test the selected model for accuracy with the test data and adjust the parameters based on the outcomes.
