At present, YouTube provides various tools for creators, ranging from fundamental features like uploads and analytics to community engagement tools and monetization opportunities. Nonetheless, there is still room for improvement in two key areas: content discovery and monetization. Regarding content discovery, while YouTube's algorithm effectively promotes popular creators and trending subjects, it can be challenging for new, niche, or smaller creators to gain visibility. To address this issue, YouTube could introduce a 'Discover' section specifically aimed at emerging creators. This section could employ an enhanced algorithm that not only considers the viewing history and preferences of users but also periodically recommends fresh and less popular content based on similar criteria. In terms of monetization, YouTube could enhance its offerings by providing greater flexibility and options. Currently, creators mostly rely on ad revenue, which can be inconsistent and minimal for smaller channels. YouTube might consider developing a more comprehensive and varied monetization model. For instance, it could include integrated merchandise sales, content sponsorship features, or the option to host paid live events or premieres directly on the platform.
