Although the Oculus Go is a great option for those seeking an affordable, standalone VR experience, there are certainly aspects that could be improved. A major limitation of the Oculus Go is its battery life, which lasts about 2 to 3 hours. Extending the battery life would significantly improve the user experience. Furthermore, it currently supports only 3DOF (three degrees of freedom) tracking, which allows for rotation tracking but not spatial movement. Transitioning to 6DOF (six degrees of freedom) tracking would enhance user immersion. Lastly, despite its goal of providing a standalone VR experience, the absence of support for external hardware restricts its functionality. Allowing for the attachment of external devices could add versatility to the product, making it more suitable for serious gaming or computing tasks.
