To develop an email service for confirming customer orders, it's essential to grasp the challenges we aim to address for the customer. Fundamentally, the email confirmation should act as a receipt, listing the purchased items, the total cost, applicable taxes, and the payment method employed. Moreover, the email should also foster customer excitement regarding product delivery. This can be achieved by providing a tracking ID for their shipment or offering an estimated delivery date. Lastly, we should think about incorporating links to FAQs or customer support for customers who may have questions about their orders or wish to make changes. From a technical perspective, we may need to connect the e-commerce platform with an email system, design and code email templates, and automate the entire process using an SMTP server. We require structured data from the e-commerce platforms and an automated system to extract that data, populate the template, and send it to the user. Additionally, we could explore third-party services if they prove to be more cost-efficient.
