In my previous position as a product manager, I led a project to introduce a new feature to our app, inspired by initial user feedback. I was convinced that this feature would significantly enhance user engagement. However, prior to full implementation, we opted to conduct A/B testing to confirm my assumption. The data we gathered contradicted my expectations, showing that the feature had little to no effect on engagement and was, in fact, causing confusion among some users. Acknowledging that my initial belief was mistaken, I redirected our team's efforts. We halted further development of the feature and redirected our resources to improve existing features, informed by user feedback obtained during the test. This new strategy proved effective, resulting in increased user engagement with the optimized features.
