As the Chief Quality Officer responsible for a cancer research tool, my dashboard would be structured into several critical areas to offer a thorough overview of our performance and activities. To begin with, patient-related metrics would take precedence. This would encompass factors such as patient survival rates, progression-free survival rates, quality of life assessments, and patient satisfaction ratings. I would aim to monitor these metrics over time and in comparison to peer institutions to evaluate our performance. Additionally, to assess the effectiveness of our cancer research tool, I would examine the number of patients enrolled in our studies, the percentage of patients completing the studies, and the outcomes of the studies. Operational metrics would consist of the proportion of patients recruited for studies within the designated timeframe, adherence to schedules for data collection and reporting, and the ratio of studies completed versus those that were initiated. Lastly, financial metrics would cover the costs associated with conducting the studies, including expenses for staff, equipment, materials, and overhead. I would track these costs against our budget and the funding allocated for the studies.
