During my internship at a law firm, my mentor raised concerns about my presentation skills during client meetings; he believed I appeared nervous and uncertain, which diminished the clients' trust. Hearing this was challenging, especially as I was new to the field, but I realized it was an area I needed to improve. I valued his straightforward feedback and took immediate steps to enhance my presentation abilities. I began attending public speaking workshops and enrolled in an online course focused on effective communication. With time, practice, and support, my presentation skills improved considerably. I started to feel more self-assured, which was evident in my client interactions. My mentor acknowledged my progress, and clients even praised my clear and confident communication style. This experience taught me the importance of recognizing my development areas and taking proactive measures to improve them.
