In my last position as a project manager, I frequently handled several projects at once. There was a specific instance when two significant projects had overlapping deadlines. I needed to make a prioritization decision since it wasn't possible to dedicate full resources to both projects simultaneously. I began by assessing the impact on stakeholders, the urgency of each project, and the required resources. Project A was highly visible and had a direct effect on our key clients, while Project B was an internal software update that, although important, had a less immediate effect on business operations. Therefore, I chose to allocate more resources to Project A to ensure it was completed on time and successfully. After discussing the situation with the internal stakeholders of Project B and reassuring them that their project would still be completed, albeit more slowly, they understood the reasoning behind my choice. Ultimately, Project A was completed on schedule and met client expectations, while Project B was finished slightly later without any negative repercussions.
