In my previous position as a Product Manager at XYZ Corp, I recognized the need for a feature aimed at optimizing user workflows. However, this feature posed significant technical complexities and would demand considerable resources. The engineering team was initially reluctant to support this idea due to concerns about their workload and potential technical hurdles. To persuade them, I dedicated time to fully grasp the technical challenges and limitations they faced. I then scheduled a meeting where I presented the business value and the positive effects this feature could have on our users. I utilized various data points, including competitive analysis, customer feedback, and market trends, to illustrate the potential business advantages. Afterward, I collaborated with the team to explore strategies for addressing the technical difficulties and suggested breaking the larger task into smaller, more manageable components to reduce the burden on their existing workload. As a result, the engineers agreed to move forward with the implementation, and the feature was ultimately launched. It garnered substantial positive feedback from our users, significantly enhancing their workflow and contributing to a noticeable increase in product engagement.
