About the role
What will you do at Swiftkey?
Collaborate with product managers, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to understand user needs and translate requirements into secure, scalable, and accessible full-stack solutions. Design, develop, test, and operate modern web applications using C#, . NET, ASP.NET Core, REST APIs, and front-end technologies such as React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Blazor, or comparable frameworks.
Create, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse high-quality code to improve application performance, reliability, security, accessibility, maintainability, and operational efficiency. Apply AI-assisted engineering tools and practices to improve development velocity and quality across requirements analysis, architecture, coding, code review, testing, debugging, modernization, documentation, and live-site investigation.
Develop agent tools and integrations that securely connect AI experiences to enterprise APIs, data sources, workflows, and business systems while respecting user identity, authorization, data boundaries, and least-privilege access. Partner with other engineering teams to identify dependencies, resolve complex system-integration challenges, and develop design documents for products, services, APIs, and platform capabilities.
Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, release planning, testing, deployment, telemetry implementation, and production readiness activities. Support live-site operations as a Designated Responsible Individual when appropriate, investigate service degradation, communicate status, and contribute to restoring service for complex issues.
Proactively learn and apply emerging engineering and AI patterns that improve system availability, observability, security, performance, evaluation quality, and operational consistency at scale. Share reusable code, prompts, agent tools, evaluation assets, engineering practices, and technical learnings with the broader engineering community.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field AND 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, or a master's degree in computer science or a related technical field AND 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
6+ Professional experience designing, developing, testing, and operating full-stack web applications or distributed software systems. 4+ years' experience developing backend services and APIs using C#, .
NET, ASP.NET Core, or comparable server-side technologies. 2+ years' experience building responsive and accessible web experiences using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Blazor, Angular, Vue.js, or comparable front-end frameworks. 2+ years' experience designing and integrating REST APIs, including API contracts, versioning, error handling, authentication, authorization, telemetry, and resiliency. 6+ years' experience applying software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, design patterns, automated testing, code reviews, source control, continuous integration, and continuous delivery. 6+ months of demonstrated use of AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot or comparable tools, to improve engineering efficiency, code quality, testing, troubleshooting, or documentation.
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate across engineering, product, and business disciplines. Experience with agent-development concepts such as tool calling, prompt and context engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, Azure AI Search, structured outputs, conversation state, multi-agent orchestration, agent identity, evaluation, tracing, observability, and safety controls.
Familiarity with project scheduling, Oracle Primavera P6, work-breakdown structures, milestone management, schedule analytics. Demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries, manage technical dependencies, mentor other engineers, and contribute reusable engineering assets and practice.
